Meet Maya, our camp counselor and mentor extraordinaire.

 With a passion for beauty and a heart full of enthusiasm, Maya welcomes each camper with open arms, ready to guide them through an unforgettable two weeks of learning and laughter.

From 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday, our campers dive headfirst into the world of natural hair styling. Through hands-on workshops, interactive demonstrations, and one-on-one mentorship sessions, they uncover the secrets of creating stunning hairstyles that celebrate individuality and embrace diversity.

But our camp is about more than just hair. It's about empowering young minds to think outside the box, challenge the status quo, and pursue their dreams with confidence. Maya leads discussions on the importance of self-expression, the beauty of diversity, and the power of perseverance, inspiring our campers to embrace their uniqueness and unleash their creativity.

As the days fly by, our campers flourish. They experiment with different techniques, unleash their creativity on mannequin heads, and collaborate on fun styling challenges that put their skills to the test. With each new hairstyle they create, they gain confidence in their abilities and pride in their work.

And as the final day of camp approaches, our campers reflect on their journey with gratitude and excitement. They leave with new friends, cherished memories, and a newfound passion for natural hair styling that will stay with them long after the summer sun fades.

Our summer camp may only last two weeks, but the impact it leaves on our campers lasts a lifetime. With Maya as their guide, they've discovered the joy of self-expression, the beauty of diversity, and the limitless possibilities that lie ahead. And as they step out into the world, they do so with heads held high, ready to embrace their uniqueness and shine bright for all to see.

EXPECTATIONS:

• PC literacy is a must

• Understanding of the importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED FOR ADVANCED SERVICE SALES:

• Ability to present service lists to prospects, conduct pre-chat, communicate with staff, and deliver welcome presentations for a customized client experience
• Understanding of the beauty cycle and ability to suggest services to clients

SOME RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Customer service duties such as greeting guests, efficiently managing client appointments, answering phones professionally, and upholding core mission statements
• Self-starter attitude, capable of working unsupervised when required
• Up-to-date cosmetologist or master barber license issued by the New York State.
